On July 16, the 2024 Jiangsu Tour for Elite Overseas University Students arrived in Changzhou, bringing together over 40 master’s and doctoral students from some of the world’s most prestigious universities, including Oxford, Stanford, MIT, and Harvard. The event was attended by Yang Fen, a standing committee member of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and director of the United Front Work Department, who delivered a welcoming address.

During their visit, the participating students toured several key sites, including Jiangsu Hengli Hydraulic Co., Ltd., West Taihu Lake Blue Bay International Talent Apartments, and the West Taihu Lake Advanced Technology Research Institute for Cell Therapy. These visits provided a comprehensive view of Changzhou’s economic and social development, as well as its innovation and entrepreneurship environment. City officials and industrial park representatives gave presentations on urban development and talent policies, while Zhang Chonghao, a representative of Changzhou’s returnee entrepreneurs, shared his experiences and insights on innovation and entrepreneurship in the city. This immersive experience aimed to highlight the convenience and promising prospects for innovation and entrepreneurship in Changzhou.

In her speech, Yang Fen expressed her hope that the visiting scholars would gain a deep appreciation for Changzhou’s dynamic development, innovative atmosphere, and livable environment. She warmly invited them to consider making Changzhou their home, contributing to the city's growth, and writing new chapters in their lives as ambitious and talented youth in this new era.
