Changzhou has made remarkable progress in establishing itself as a child-friendly city, with 20 communities already embracing this concept. Each community showcases its unique characteristics while sharing the common goal of providing children with a friendly and joyful environment for their growth and development.

One outstanding example is the Huarun International Community in Tianning district, where every aspect has been designed with children in mind. With a population of over 4,000 children, accounting for 22 percent of the community, Huarun International Community has undergone thoughtful modifications to ensure a child-friendly environment. Rounded corners and lower handrails have been installed to eliminate sharp edges and make facilities safer for children. The community also provides dedicated spaces such as Children's Book Reading Corner for the younger residents.

Another noteworthy child-friendly community is the recently developed Xinghe Community in Hutang town, Wujin district. Here, an innovative "Home-School-Community" integrated service approach has been implemented. Collaborations with local schools, kindergartens, and property management have been forged to meet the diverse needs of children in different age groups. The community also offers services in parenting, family education, and psychological counseling through the popular New Parents' Cafe.

Changzhou's commitment to building child-friendly communities is part of a national strategic initiative. By 2025, China aims to establish 100 pilot child-friendly cities, and Changzhou is fully embracing this initiative to become the "most desirable city for youth innovation and entrepreneurship" in China. The city has integrated the development of child-friendly cities into its economic and social development plans, formulated regulations, and initiated strategic planning.

To ensure equitable access to high-quality services, Changzhou has achieved significant educational milestones by increasing attendance in kindergartens and improving the quality of compulsory education. The city has also expanded access to quality healthcare resources through innovative childcare models and public-private partnerships.

Changzhou's dedication to supporting vulnerable children includes inclusive sharing, comprehensive medical assistance, and the establishment of "Children's Care Homes" in all districts and towns. This year, the city has launched the "Ten Child-Friendly Initiatives" that focus on children's development and essential needs.

By prioritizing children's needs, Changzhou is creating an inclusive and nurturing environment that fosters the full potential of every child. The city's commitment to building child-friendly communities aligns with its dedication to the well-being and development of children.
