During the five-day May Day holiday, the consumer market in Changzhou exhibited significant signs of recovery. According to the Changzhou Bureau of Commerce, 47 key large and medium-sized retail and catering enterprises, along with nine urban complexes in Changzhou, recorded sales of 478.17 million yuan. This reflects a 19.8 percent increase from the same period last year and an 8.7 percent increase from the same period in 2019.

Moreover, the Lingjiatang Wholesale Market achieved sales of 435.62 million yuan, marking a 13.8 percent increase from the same period last year and roughly matching the sales figures recorded during the equivalent period in 2019.
